The carriage of goods by air is insured under marine policy. It is handled very much like carriage by sea and dealt with under marine department.

There are aircraft used to carry passengers and cargo. There are elaborate laws on requirements on insurance of aircraft insurance. The owner of the aircraft will be most interested to insure his aircraft in case of accident. This like in marine is called hull insurance.

Aircraft owners are required by the local aviation authority to purchase insurance for third party liabilities. These are mainly passenger liability and third party liability for damage to third parties properties or death or injury to third parties.

Possibility in Kenya
Aviation Hull Insurance is limited to light passenger aircraft. Insurance and Re-insurance capacities of local companies for this class of business remain inadequate to cover commercial aircraft.
